Managers

When I applied for the position over shoes, I told myself that if I get this job I will never let them down. I know I am so blessed to be given a full time job out of so many people (almost half of the store applying for it). I promised myself that I will do my best all the time and treat people fair as I have always been. The first few months was a challenge. My immediate superior was out all the time, and all I did was rely on some of my co-workers for training. I searched the computers in the training room to see if they have stuff that I can read about shoes.

By then the old supervisor still works there, but we don't meet because we had different schedules. Some of my co-workers said that he needs to show me things but my immediate superior strongly disagreed because he thinks that he wasn't doing a good job. The store manager promised me and the area supervisor for training and that didn't happen. I was so keen with everything. I learned it little by little, day by day with the help of the people that worked there. After a few months I saw a big improvement. It looked great and so organized. Every time the district manager visits us there, she always compliment how everything looked. Not only that my sales are also really high. I really didn't do anything special but help customers as they come in shoes. I have met a lot of people and some stop by just to say hi. I can't even keep up anymore.

Last Tuesday our regional manager came in together with the district manager. He grilled me with so many questions and I answered them all. He was impressed with the improvement and the sales of course. It really feels nice to be recognized and be told that you are doing a good job. Until such time that I still have this job, I will do my best regardless if I am taking so many classes or not because I would always be thankful for the chance and the trust.
