Thursday afternoon Papa was doing his nightly routine. He was watching TV Patrol and other Filipino shows in the kitchen and went to bed right after. Early morning I got up around 9:00 a.m. because Ryan promised me that he will email me something important to what I am supposed to be doing that day. I was still able to access the internet, we still have the dial tone. I then ate breakfast, took a shower and I remember that I need to call my academic advisor to ask him about something when I picked up the phone, there was no dial tone. I thought it was weird and immediately assume that it was AT&T's fault. I didn't bother to trace what was the problem as I had so much projects that are waiting for me. I told Papa that he might not be able to access the wireless internet through my laptop because the phone line is down.
When I got home, I though the problem has been fixed. He told me that the phone in the kitchen has a dial tone but not the one in the second bedroom. Since we all need to go to Target to get something, I figure to wait for Ryan till he gets home so that he can figure it out. We were out for almost 4 hours going to different places and when we got home Ryan didn't know what happened and he transferred the DSL thingy in the kitchen and hocked it in my laptop. He had so much to report that night and he didn't have the time to check where the problem was. Like I did, he tried to unplug and plug everything back because we thought it was just some lose ends but it wasn't. While reporting in the kitchen, Papa was so busy trying to figure out what happened. He took the phone that we have in the kitchen because it doesn't have to be plugged and he went outside the house to check the phone lines. Then he found the problem (mind you it was around 8:30 p.m. and so many mosquitoes outside). The phone line that was going to the bedroom is not working while the phone line that was going to the living room does work. So to give us a temporarily relief he connected the phone line that was not working to the one that is working. Unfortunately, we will not have a phone line in the living room just yet because he rerouted it but he can always put it back when we are ready to put a phone there soon. It was a big relief for me because I had so much to write and Ryan was all over my computer. Papa told me that he used to find the problem and fix the phone lines when he was in the Philippines both in his work and at home so there is no way he will not be able to find the problem here in our house. I am so glad for his help or else we will have to get help somewhere and may have to spend so much because Ryan and I can't find the problem. Thank God for Papa!
