Absolutely Gorgeous

I wanted to have a little break from writing earlier because I just couldn’t think of anything to add to what I was writing anymore so I decided to surf the internet. I wasn’t looking for something in particular until I came across a website that carried gorgeous and sexy corsets. I stopped and I browsed and the only thing I can say is they are all so stunning. Plus they are on sale. You can even take advantage of their free shipping on orders over $75.00. Corsets Diva has traditional corset brands as well as stylized corset brands with different types to choose from. It is never too late to get yourself a sexy corset. After all, you’ll never know when you need it.

Second Day

Last Sunday, we all got up early and we all had breakfast. Ryan was asked to work OT at FS again so it was only the 3 of us at home. The sun was shining so brightly and the skies were blue so Papa thought that it is going to be warm. He told me that he wants to go outside to walk around our little property. I asked him if he needs his winter jacket and he said he was fine because the sun was shining. After less than a minute he ran inside the house telling me how cold it is. I told him that the sun doesn't give any heat around this time of the year. He got dressed, Frankie wanted to go with him and we all went out. Thankfully it wasn't that cold outside and he started cleaning our garage and sweeping the leaves that Ryan wasn't able to do last year. Frankie was also having a good time following his Taytay around and just look at this picture below.

Frankie likes going across where Papa is sweeping with his toy car. After he reaches the other end, he starts reversing it again. Papa had to stop and laugh.

After cleaning up the garage we all went out and did all the leaves. Unfortunately the bucket was already full and there is no more pick until April so Papa piled it in one place away from the house. He also piled together the branches that fell from the tree. Frankie was there again jumping up and down from Papa's piled leaves. He's butt was so dirty including his gloves but he looked like he has a good time. The picture below is when Papa had to help him up because he laid on the leaves.

Frankie lost both of his gloves so we decided to come in and left Papa outside. He started crying because he still wants to play outside but he's hands were so red and cold. When Papa came in we had lunch and they both went to the living room to sing Karaoke. Papa was carrying him while singing and he fell asleep.

How precious!

Ryan was so happy to see a very very clean garage. Thanks to Papa.

Do You Drive A Ferrari?

It must have been so cool to own a Ferrari. Ryan and I owned a sports car (Mustang) briefly but we had to trade it in because Ryan can’t drive it during the winter. The tires were not made for winter although there were other sports cars that were. It was alright for me. I was never a big fan of it because of how loud it is every time he accelerates. Besides I could never see Frankie riding in the backseat for he will never take a nap because of the noise. I was also getting worried about its maintenance and where to get the parts in case something happens to it. If only the car was a Ferrari, it is so easy to find and get Ferrari parts online. Ricambi America is a supplier of original Ferrari parts and accessories. They even have installation guide for your convenience. If you own a Ferrari getting its parts has never been so easy.

St. Adalbert Cemetery & Mausoleums in Niles, IL

You might be wondering what we were doing on Christmas Day in a cemetery. Well, the three of us went up to Chicago for our Christmas get together. We were a little early while the rest of the family are still on their way to the venue so we thought of visiting Mom. It was only a few miles away from the venue so we stopped by. Ryan and Frankie stayed in the car while I went out to pay my respect and offer her a prayer and also took some pictures. The snow was so thick that some of the tomb stones were buried. There were also people who visited but didn't bother to get off the car.

I have always wanted to take pictures of a cemetery here in the US but never got the chance until now. It is nice that the people back home can compare and see the difference. We have been there a couple of times during the summer and this is my first time to visit during the winter with the thick white snow on the ground. It surely was interesting walking through the snow as I was approaching where our mom is resting.

Just look at how thick the snow is

The Mausoleums neatly lined up at the back of the cemetery.

Ryan said they are his relatives. I don't know if you can see it well but he also mentioned that it seems like during those times, people seem to die at an early age. We can tell by counting the years during their birth and their death. I may have to find out what happened around those time.

Affordable Eyeglasses Online

I never thought that time will come that we can actually buy eyeglasses online. I have been going to an ophthalmologist and optometrist for 10 years now and I really have to find time to see them. I have astigmatism and I also get checked for glaucoma every 2 years. I don’t have it (thankfully!) but my brother has it so my eye doctor wants to be sure. I already know where to get my next pair of eyeglass. In fact they even have Holiday Glass Frames From Zenni Optical and the price? You are not going to believe it. It is as low as $ 8 Complete Rx Eyeglasses. How did I know about Zenni? Well it is the popular online eyeglasses shop and people are talking about it. I already have my prescription ready so it shouldn’t be a problem getting one for myself. You should check them out too.

Papa Is Here

We left the house a little late so we thought we are going to be late in picking up Papa at the airport. When we got there the plane has just landed and passengers are coming out one by one. I was so nervous because he has to go through immigration. Although I know he's papers are all complete but I was still worried because we waited for almost an hour. Frankie was getting anxious too and wants to get off and run away. Every time a passenger comes out I hugged Ryan and whispered to him how I want to see Papa already. I had tears in my eyes while waiting.

We were standing and walking back and forth to two exits just to make sure that he hasn't gone out yet. When the waiting areas has finally cleared up, the three of us sat down. I talked to a couple of elderly Filipinas who have been in the same flight with Papa and they assured me that for first timers like him, it will take a while. I looked at exit A and he wasn't there and when I looked at exit B he was there standing looking around. I waved my hand and he saw me and waved back. I told Ryan, we got up and I ran to him and gave him a hug. I couldn't keep my composure but instead I cried. He gave me a very tight hug and told me not to cry because he is here. He gave Ryan and Frankie a hug too and immediately grabbed Frankie. He was about to cry but I kept telling him that it was Tayta (sometimes he calls him Taytay). We head to the van that was parked outside and I snapped this picture of both of them.

It's been 4 years since I last saw Papa and he hasn't seen Frankie in person. I wanted Papa to sit in the front seat but he wants to sit right next to Frankie.

Papa started showing Frankie something. It was a bug inside a key chain that looked so neat. They then ate crackers together in the back seat and Frankie started playing with him. We took the scenic route (Chicago) taking home. When we got home, I made him feel at home and comfy.

Papa started opening the gifts that he got from all of us.

We had karaoke and a duet of "I want to spend my lifetime loving you", Manang In-in and Papa version this time. We had lunch and Papa took a nap. Dad and Noelle came to see him but he was asleep. We went out for a nice dinner and went shopping for some of his needs. I thank Him up there for making everything possible. It was nice for my family back home to see all 3 of us together. They are all so happy.

Might Get Rid of Our TV Stand

Ryan and I got our TV stand last summer from someone we know that were going to move to the Philippines. It was made of solid wood and the previous owner said that he got it for about 10 years ago and he had it since. Unfortunately it is falling apart. It still looks nice in the outside but not in the inside. I really don’t think it was maintained well. I am not even sure if we can get some parts of it elsewhere. I really would hate to see it go. Although recently I have been browsing for some tv stands online and I saw one that I really like. It would be a perfect addition too if you plan to get rid of your TV stand in time for the New Year. The one pictured on the left is what I really liked. Who knows we might get it to replace what we have. We’ll see.

Papa's Departure

Still waiting for Papa's departure. I truly missed them all. They are my siblings.

I hate goodbyes. When I saw this picture I can't help but cry. This is Papa saying his goodbye to Resty and also giving her a kiss.

December 27 at 1:45 a.m. Philippine time Papa left Cebu. We are going to pick him up at Ohare in any minute and I hope there are no delays. I am a little thankful that he was not able to make it for Christmas here. The past few days has not been to good to us (weather wise) and the flight cancellation was to the roof. I was also glad that my family was able to celebrate Christmas with him and had a nice outing before he left Cebu. My brother Gayfred was so diligent in letting me now how everything is. Ging-ging in the other hand was the photographer. Resty too also texted me every step of the way. I talked to Ging-ging when they got home and she said nobody cried because Papa turned away right way and left when the departure gate opened. He has always been like that even when he used to leave us for Libya. He hates goodbyes. Brother Gayfred also said that Dan-dan was such a clown and made everybody laugh and that ease the pain even for a little bit. Ryan said Papa looks happy in the pictures and that makes us happy too. We want him to be happy in coming over here. I couldn't wait to see him later. I am excited and I better get ready because the drive will be over an hour. Before I go, here are the pictures before he left Cebu.

Here...There...Everywhere

That is what I felt today. Ryan woke me up early so that we can go places before it gets really busy outside. I told him yes the night before but it was a drag getting up early today. First we went to the bank to deposit some checks. We then stopped by Mc Donalds to buy breakfast on our way to Orland Square Mall. I went to have my eyebrows done while Frankie and Ryan were waiting for me. Ryan then dropped us off to the play area where Frankie and I stayed and waited for him to come back after picking last minute gifts. Frankie had so much fun playing that he cried when we have to put his coat on. I needed to work so we couldn't stay long. We have been wanting to go back to Red Robin for a while and that was where we had our lunch. I was a little sleepy so we stopped by Starbucks to get me some frappuccino. I wished I was already dress for work because they could have just dropped me of but I wasn't. We head home, I got ready and Dada was so nice to drop me off and pick me up from work. It was a long day indeed. I was glad it was over and I already gave my hours away. Off to Chicago tomorrow.

There Is Help

A lot of people don’t know the alarming and potential damage that mesothelioma can do to a person’s body. That is why I like checking out Mesotheliomahelp.net because of the informative information they have regarding Mesothelioma from diagnosis and symptoms, treatment, possible things you can do to help as a family member of someone who is suffering from mesothelioma. They have the latest updates about this awful cancer as well as recommended readings too. You can even search for a doctor and learned about other treatment options. You must be devastated to know that you have this cancer but surely you are not alone and information and help is available at your fingertips.

The Trip To Get Some Chicken Cubes

Frankie and I went to the Filipino store to pick up some mongo and I wanted to make something out of it the next day. I really thought that we still have some chicken cubes in the cupboard that the next day I started boiling it but to my dismay I have transferred almost everything that was in the cupboard out just to look for the chicken cubes or the vegetable cubes and I didn't find it. So I decided to go to the store really quickly even if the snow is still so thick on our driveway. I dress Frankie up and just had his matching green top and bottom. He was so funny when we are about to leave, I took a picture of him and he was so close to me.

Then after he posed for the first shot, he took a couple steps back and smiled this time and waited for me to take another snap. He is getting so easy to take pictures now unlike before. He used to grab the camera because he wants to take the picture himself. I was getting ready to wash his coat because he spilled some juice in it after we came from the Filipino store but I didn't have any choice but to let him wear it again for a quick stop for get some chicken cubes. The other coat he got is still so big for him. I was so mad because when we came home and opened the same cupboard that I rearranged earlier to put the chicken cubes I bought, I found the other chicken and vegetable cubes right in front of my face. After all the hassle, Frankie and I been through and after I spending my paypal for additional stuff that I picked up that was not in the plan. How could I not see the cubes the first time?

Not Driving Without Any Cellphone

After I talked to Sheila yesterday, I gave the phone to Frankie and they talked for a little bit. Frankie won’t give me back my phone so I yelled out to Sheila to hang up and she did. I placed the phone on the kitchen counter, went to put Frankie to bed and when I was done I came out but was surprised to see my phone dead and it won’t turn on at all. I checked the battery and still it didn’t work. What could have happened? Thankfully we have another unlocked phone and Ryan immediately placed the sim card in it. I was so glad it worked because I so badly need it while driving in this kind of weather. To think it was snowing that morning and though the main road is cleared, some side streets aren’t. Besides Ryan and I doesn’t drive without a cellphone not unless if we really forgot it. The next time we buy cellphones, we will make sure it is unlock so that we can still use it regardless of what sim card we stick in it.

Nonong Tonette's New Ride

I am so happy for my Nonong Tonette and I can't wait when he can finally take this to work. You see, my brother used to hitch a ride with my Uncle since they work together and lived in the same city. Unfortunately when the gas price went up, my uncle was forced to give up his service car and commute instead because it was cheaper. My brother on the other hand started riding his bike to work though it's free, it was tiring and imagine doing that 6 times a week. He surely lost so much weight around the waist. When Resty started working, Papa thought of a better idea and that is for them to get a motorcycle. Resty spends almost P100.00 a day just for fare roundtrip. Since Nonong Tonette and Resty worked close to each other anyway, she can save her fare and have it saved for the motorcycle while Nonong Tonette will have a little break from riding his bike from Talisay to Mandaue and would still be able to pay it off. Currently they are working on the papers and registration before he can actually ride on it. I am so happy for both of them. The good thing is his best friend helped him out and paid it all in cash. So they all have to pay to his bestfriend minus the huge fees. What a nice friend, isn't it?

My ever missed Nonong Tonette

Lipitone

I am no expert when it comes to diet pills especially in knowing what works and what doesn’t. Besides I have never tried using or taking one before as an aid to lose weight. I am not to that point yet, at least not yet. Trying to lose weight will always be our issue as we grow older especially when we hit the big 30. My weight has never been an issue before until I gave birth to our son and got busy with other things rather than concentrating on myself. That is why once in a while I check out sybervision.com and see what they have reviewed lately and I came across lipitone. It actually made claims bold but the question is can they keep up with the claim? There is actually nothing special with lipitone. They have ingredients that you will commonly find in other effective diet pills that are out in the market today. So it isn’t special. At least at sybervision.com they have the best top 3 diet pills reviewed so you never go wrong.

Farewell Party

My siblings and Mama had a little farewell party for Papa. Well it was kind of my decision to have it last Sunday because he might become busy with CFO, then he needed to have his haircut, teeth cleaned, replace his eyeglasses and have a check up as well. Plus we didn't know if he can make it here this week so they wanted it done last Sunday also. Besides they will eventually have one anyway regardless on when he will leave. It was nothing major. Some relatives came over and they had karaoke as usual. I wasn't behind because my brother Gayfred kept texting me when they were about to eat and while they were eating. There were quiet a lot of food that I was drooling about. My brother kept tell me that he wished I was there and I wish I was there too. I thought they have more pictures but Resty said they were so busy singing and eating that they only took 7. Anyways, I am not complaining. I am just glad that they have a good time and Papa as well. That afternoon, I called and talk to Papa and asked him if he was happy with the farewell party and he said he was. I am sure he will be missed and again I can't wait to to hug him really soon.

It's For Sale

Frankie and I went to the Filipino store earlier to get some goodies. It has been a while since I last seen the owner and I was glad that I stopped by. To my surprise he offered me his store or if I know someone that would be interested to buy it. He wants to sell it because he has gotten a job as a civil engineer in downtown Chicago that was so hard for him to pass up. The store he has, have been in business for almost 3 years. I asked him upfront if he was having issues with the store financially and he said it makes a little profit. It got me excited because Jenny one of my close friends has always wanted to have her own business. Everything was new and all the products are delivered to the store so he doesn’t have to worry about deliveries and for the price he gave me, it was very fair I thought. One thing that I will surely suggest though if my friend Jenny will ever buy the place and that is to accept credit cards as a mode of payment.

He never tried having a credit card terminal because he said credit card processing is very expensive. I have told him so many times before that with the amount that his costumer will be buying anyway it will work out. Every time I go there I try to spend less then $10.00 depending on how much I have in cash but when I go to other Filipino stores that accept credit cards I can spend over $30.00 all the time. I already called Sheila earlier and see what we three can do. Jenny’s husband already told her before that he is willing to put up something if she ever decides to open her own business but Jenny has pride. If not we can always go for OnlineCheck.com’s “Fast Business Loan” where it has fast approval and most of all less stringent requirements especially now that the owner of the store only has a little over a month left before he starts with his other job. He wants to sell it really bad. We’ll see on what we can come up with.

For Somebody

I saw Ryan sneakingly bringing this package into the house. He didn't open the garage because he was just stopping by to drop off something. I told him around lunch that Frankie and I will be picking up a prescription at Target and we actually did but came home early. So he was so surprised to see us when he opened the door. Too late for him to hide what he had in his hands. He had this coach gift bag. I smiled and he smiled at me too and I asked who was that for and he said it was for somebody. That somebody is surely very lucky. Sheila, Jenny and I didn't even bother going inside that store during Black Friday because there were a lot of people. I figure they must have a very good deal for that amount of people in there.

What I am trying to point out too is how they surely make is so pretty. The presentation is really awesome. Well they better be for that price and the color of the box is my favorite color too. I didn't opened it though because it was for somebody. At least, I have pictures to keep. :)

The Best Diet Pill

One of the things that I truly missed with my previous job is how mobile I was. It was tiring at the end of the day but I am able to move around while at work and Ryan thinks the same way too. With staying home and not having much exercise it surely shows. Eating during the holiday is not helping at all. We are invited in three different places for Christmas day and with that comes the feasting. There are times when I can’t help but wonder what is the best diet pill that is in the market today. With so many, it is hard to decide which one you would go for. Taking diet pills for now is not an alternative for me but it is nice to know that when worst comes to worst; there is something I can do.

My Wish List

I am a person that is so easy to please. In fact this year all I ever wanted are a couple of DVDs and a snow globe to add to my collection. This will be my 6th Christmas here in the US and every year either Ryan or I buy one snow globe to represent my Christmas here. Well these are what I want :

1. The first and the second Chronicles of Narnia DVDs.

2. Stardust DVD

3. Snow Globe

and that is it. I couldn't ask for more and already so blessed in so many ways.

Elliptical

So what is your New Year’s resolution? Losing weight is pretty common. Ryan and I had the same New Year’s resolution last year and Ryan was successful the first 3 months of the year then I got lazy in preparing his salads then he started gaining all the 30 lbs. back. He was also to the point where he needs to start working out but didn’t have the time to hit the gym. I wonder what will be his New Year’s resolution this time.

Ryan is a little relieved that my father will be joining us here. He is very conscious with his diet because as he said, he is not getting any younger and he tries to run for miles and miles everyday. Ryan was hoping that he can make some healthy meal for all of us. Now that would be really nice so that I don’t have to worry about what to cook for them. I really wish we had a bigger space because getting a elliptical could have been really nice for Ryan. He can just work out the convenience of our home. You can get it too. I am sure everyone would love to get an elliptical for the holiday.

Can't Make It For Christmas

Yep I talked to Papa yesterday and it was so hard to get him here before Christmas. December 16 would be the soonest but he has to go to CFO on December 15 and the flight is at 1:40 a.m. of December 16. Isn't it such a weird time? Plus we haven't send him the money for the plane ticket yet because we were not sure how much would it really be. Ryan wanted him to get the ticket already but with the CFO stamp we still don't know if it would be quick or not. Besides it is the peak season because of Christmas and the $750.00 one way ticket to get here last September went all the way up to over $1,200.00. We are not complaining though because we have the money set and saved for this for a long time. We just wished he could make it for Christmas. The next flight would be after Christmas and that is what he will be taking. He wanted to take Korean Airlines too because it has a direct flight to Chicago and his port of entry will be in Chicago.

If he take other planes, the port of entry will be in California and he doesn't like it as well as Ryan. Well I see of it as a blessing in disguise so that he can spend Christmas with the family one last time. Ryan doesn't want to charge the ticket for he wants to pay cash for it. I guess I don't have to rush now to send the money as we have enough time for it. The Filipino store is also close on Mondays so that will be another problem. I told him that we can probably make it for Dec. 16 but Papa said he doesn't want to be in rush and will end up forgetting stuff. Ryan already told him to bring some of his memorabilia since he won't be living there anyway. There will always be more Christmases with him and we are just glad he will be with us for New Year. Now this give us a little time to move stuff around in the house.

Search No More

Have you tried researching the words diet pills in Google and found out how many links came back? I did and you will be surprised with the result. It was exactly 10,300,000 links that I got back in just 21 seconds that has something to do with the words diet pills. It is quiet disturbing I might say, especially if the person researching for it is desperately looking for a place to find diet pills that works. Which link should he/she click first? It can be very confusing that is why the next time you want to know about diet pills and their reviews check out Researchdietpills.com because they have rated and ranked it according to its effectiveness. Make your diet pill search easier with Researchdietpills.com.

Museum of Science and Industry

photo grabbed from Wikipedia.org

I used to complain every time Ryan would take me to this Museum. I have been there so many times that I can't even count it in my fingers anymore. But this year we are planning to go back there again and check out The Christmas Around The World exhibit. That is my favorite where they have Christmas trees from different parts of the world. We have been a member since last Fall and Ryan kept asking me to go but I kept telling him later. The working coal mine is also one of my favorites while Ryan's is the German submarine U-505 that was captured during World War II besides the Omnimax. Frankie should be a little bit aware this time. So I am actually excited to go to the museum for a change.

Alli Reviewed

When we want to try something different we usually search for people’s reviews on the product that we are looking for in the internet. It helps in the decision making whether to go for it or not. Even with the littlest thing, I search the internet because I don’t have the money to waste on something that doesn’t work. Just like the diet pill alli. I wouldn’t know its side effect if I didn’t check www.consumerpricewatch.net. They reviewed every detail of it including effectiveness and use, safety and as well as possible side effects. So the next time you need an honest review on diet pills, then don't forget to check them out.

Chicago Christmas

Chicago picture photographed by Ken Ilio

It seems like we are going to celebrate our Christmas Day in Chicago again with Grandma Horner and the rest of the family. Ryan called Dad yesterday and told Dad that he won't be home early because he needed to finish something and Dad told him that we are invited up in Chicago. It is not only Christmas Day but also Noelle's birthday so I can't wait to see them again. The last time we are up there, we took the toll way going home and Ryan said that we might be going in the same road again in a few weeks to the airport. I smiled at him while he was driving and I said, I hope so Da and in a few weeks we will be. I hope Papa will be here this Christmas. We really really hope so.

Are You A Land Rover Fanatic?

Did you notice something? The more you drive your car and the more you learn about its cool functions, the more you like it? I used to hate my very first car because it wasn’t something that I liked but after driving it for quiet sometime I learned to like it and later love it. This is also the reason why a lot of LandRover fans created websites, forums and club just to share their thoughts about their beloved Land Rover and you can all find them in one place through the Landroverweb.com. In fact you can even add your link(s) by sending them an email for other Land Rover enthusiast to find you regardless of what your location is in the world. What I also like about Landroverweb.com is they have reviews and articles that you will find very interesting regarding your Land Rover as well as links of different parts suppliers in UK and even a link for world wide suppliers too. Find fellow Land Rover fanatics everywhere in the world.

It's Almost Over

Hi Merydith!

Manang ok na ang akong visa salamat sa Ginoo. (Manang my visa is now ok, thank God.)

Chikka Txt2mail and Chikka TXT MESSENGER

That was the exact message that I got from Papa and when I read it in my yahoo inbox, my heart skipped a beat.

Ok let's rewind. Papa's interview schedule was supposed to be last September. We were expecting a little later but we were happy that he got it earlier. We were confident (he did too) that he will do good with the physical exam since he doesn't have any vice and doesn't smoke or drink but to our dismay there was a tiny spot in the result of his chest x-ray so he has to undergo the 3 day sputum test and 2 months for the culture result to get back. I can tell how bored he was at home because it was something that we didn't expect. I told him to enjoy and make the most of his time with the family because after two months, if everything will be ok, he will be back to Manila for his interview.

He went in for his vaccinations on November 27 but was disappointed that he can't get a closer date because it was all booked. Since he missed his interview last September it is now St. Lukes who made an interview appointment for him and his was Dec. 9. He decided to stay in Manila and did some work in my Aunt's house instead of going home. It was only 9 days away anyway. I called him with all the instructions and he already read everything and know exactly what to do. He also know all the dates and necessary information. My aunt also bought him a long sleeve top so he look nice for the interview. Dec 8 here in the evening Dec. 9 in the Philippines, I didn't have any choice but to work. I didn't want to call off. We had our nice dinner but my mind was with Papa. Sometimes I get nervous and think of him and I kept telling myself that I hope he made it but I know in my heart he did. After work I was driving so fast (just 5 miles over the speed limit). I can't wait to get home and open my computer and see what he has texted me. My computer acted up and I had to reboot and when I finally open my email, the text above was what I got. As I said my heart skipped a beat and I was shaking.

Papa texted all his children and called mama but she wasn't there but at church. I called the house in Cebu because I couldn't get a hold of him. I was so anxious to know what were the questions or if he was having a hard time. I talked to Ging-ging and she said Papa texted her and said that he stopped by Jollibee to treat himself with some chicken, spaghetti and drink. I am just glad that we are almost finally over with this entire thing. Ryan was so happy and he wants him over here before Christmas. It was so funny because when we were to church last Saturday, after communion I whispered to him to pray for Papa that he will make it during the interview and he whispered back and said, "Sweety I already did, how about you, you haven't?". I just gave him a smile. I emailed my mother in law last night and she is so excited too. She wants to know when will he come exactly so that we can give him a welcome party at a later date. He just needs to get the visa and the stamp from CFO that he had taken the seminar then hopefully he can make it here before Christmas. We'll see because everything still kind of depends on the arrival of the visa. I can't wait to pick him up at the airport and give him a kiss. I truly missed him. I wish mama could have said yes before but her turn will come.

Timeline:

July 2007 - We submitted the papers and they got it on August 2007.
January 2008 - The petition was approved.
September 2008 - First US Embassy interview schedule.
December 2008 - Immigrant visa application approved after a long 2 month drama from St. Lukes.

*It could have been way earlier but there were things that Ryan and I could have done but didn't do it because we didn't realized how important it was. It took 2 months so submit it back when we got a letter from NVC looking for it but above we are just thankful that everything is ok. *

Turn Your Dream Into Reality

There are a lot of talented people out there who have brilliant ideas to start a new business but lacked the funds to make it happen. In fact, I was just talking with my co-worker and she was telling me that if only she had the money, she would love to come up with a drive thru DVD rental so people don’t have to get out of their cars especially during this time of the year. The concept will be just like the DVD rental that you see in the stores that you have to pay a dollar to rent but the difference is it is out where people can rent and return without getting off with their cars. Doesn’t that sounds like a brilliant idea?

This might sound unbelievable but there is actually a place where you can get a business loan without the hassle and OnlineCheck.com offers just that. They know that it is a challenge to start up with a new business so they make it as easy and simple for you. Their Fast Business Loan simply speaks for itself. The requirement is minimal and most of all, approval is fast and no closing cost or fees. It doesn’t even matter if you had poor credit that is how they can help you and once approved, the money will be deposited in your bank within 5 to 7 business days. Now your dream of having your own business is just within your reach. You even have the option to take advantage of the ACH processing. What this means is you can accept checks by phone as a form of payment from your customers. It has a low transaction fees and no more checks in the mail. Not all customers like using their credit card so this will be a great alternative for you and your business. You should check Onlinecheck.com today and see what they have for you.

Dinner At The Chinese Restaurant

After church last Saturday we had a little chit-chat with Sheila and Kenny. Ryan then put Frankie in his car seat, I sat on the front seat and we looked at each other. I asked him what he wants to do. He wanted to go home and so that we can make dinner together but he was tired from working over time. I wasn't really up to cooking also because I will be working later that night so I took my boys to the Chinese place that we frequent and this time, it's my treat. The food was same old same old but surely it was nice to sit down and have good food. I wish we are closer to the Filipino restaurant because the food is a lot better there. Ryan kept telling me that we need to take Dad and Noelle (especially Noelle) there to let them try some Filipino cooking. Well Dad had some when he went to Ryan to the Philippines but it is Noelle that I am so excited about. Maybe soon when we have time in our hands. Other than that, we had a nice Saturday and Sunday.

Fly and Save

I know I still have another year to go but I can’t help but look forward for our trip to the Philippines. This will be Frankie’s first time and that is what makes me very excited. It has been a long time since my last visit and this time will be a lot exciting because we will be attending my sister’s college graduation. My Papa will be coming with us too. My issue every time I fly to the Philippines is how costly the plane ticket is. It is so hard to find cheap airline tickets these days. The last time we went home, I didn’t have the time to surf the internet so I went with the first one I saw. I can’t believe how much we spent but we know better now. When we are ready to get our plane tickets, I will definitely check out www.cheapflightsservice.com.

Do you know what I like about cheapflightsservice.com? It’s the ease they provide in searching for cheap flights by just clicking the different travel booking engines such as Cheap Tickets, Orbitz and Hotwire. With this, the result will open in a different window which enables you to compare hence saving you even more. Cheapflightsservice.com is not only limited with cheap airfare but they can also help you with hotel search and even car rental. Another thing that I find very convenient is the list and links of cheap flights, cheap hotels and cheap cars that they have in their website. So the next time you travel, give yourself a break and save with www.cheapflightsservice.com.

To Church

How is your Saturday so far peeps? Ours is just wonderful. Ryan worked over time today and Frankie has been feeling better. We are supposed to go to church tomorrow regardless of what time I will be coming home later tonight but Ryan's boss asked him if he can work tomorrow because he is a little behind. It is also time and a half so he said yes. So instead of waking up early tomorrow for church we are going tonight for the anticipated mass. Honestly it has been a while since I have been to church. I usually take a nap on Saturday afternoon and I work during the night and won't get home late from work and can't get up early for church the next day. I know I was just making excuses so now I want to go regardless of how tired I am going to be. Ryan has been urging me to go so I am glad that I have a husband that cares. I hope it is not going to be that cold outside.

I Went Shopping At Kohls

We got another pick a day in the mail last Tuesday. I didn't want to use it but I really would like to take advantage of the 35% off that I will be getting in softlines. Ryan wanted to come shopping with me but I don't feel comfortable with Frankie not too well yet. Since I have to work anyway, I came in early and started shopping. Ryan told me not to go beyond $200.00 and I told him it is not even close. We wanted to get Papa his very own winter coat. I know, we don't even know yet when he is coming but we wanted to get it for him so that I can take advantage of the discount. We already bought him one early this year and I thought it was a winter coat. When I looked at it again it was only a spring/fall jacket so Ryan suggested to get it during the associates day. So I went in and I really wished I had a longer time to shop around. I bought him a Sonoma coat that was originally $120.00 for 50% off. I couldn't find anything that is cheaper and thicker. I also bought him a dockers scarf and a pair of gloves. They ran out of winter hat that will match with everything I got for him. I also picked things for the people in our list. Ryan liked what I got for Papa and how much the total was. I used a Kohls Cash and the pick a day discount because the employee discount will be automatically deducted in our credit card bill. I was so happy because it didn't cost us much to get all the stuff.

Taken inside Papa's own closet in the second bedroom. We have already accumulated some clothes for him but I think he will need more. We can always go shopping once he gets here but for now the most important thing is the winter coat so that he won't freeze when we go pick him up at the airport whenever that would be.

Thanksgiving Dinner At Tita Jenny's Place

Just right when we got home from Chicago, Sheila called me asking if when we are going to be at Jenny's house. We just got home about 30 minutes ago. I didn't dress Frankie up but decided to go there right away. The food was really yummy too especially the Jamaican rice chicken that their friend made. Frankie was able to play with Kyle for a little bit. Sheila walked us to our car and enjoyed a little picture taking with Frankie outside. It was so dark that all I did was click, click and click. The pictures turned out ok as you can see. It reminds I need to upload these in friendster for Tita Sheila to see. Ryan was expecting us to come home a little late but I told him that since we are going to Michigan City, Indiana anyway we would like to put the kids to sleep and freshen up for a little bit. Frankie was still up when I left them to go out.

Getting ready to run to the car. It was chilly that night.

Tita Sheila's anak-anak.

Brightstorm Makes Learning Fun

I was never good with math or with creative writing and that is obviously the reason why I didn’t consider majoring it when I was college. I chose Social Science instead. It’s fun talking about history, a little about politics and geography if you ask me. Do you know what is weird? My eldest brother loves Calculus, Geometry and Algebra while my second brother hated math but he is good with writing. However, I am good with history and my sister next to me loves math while our youngest enjoys Biology, Physics and Chemistry.

It can be tough for high-schoolers to absorb everything in one place. Imagine sitting in a classroom with one subject after another. I used to hear some of my high school students before complain about how difficult it is to do everything together. Teachers also have the tendency to give projects all together. I remember when I was in high school; I was so embarrassed to ask questions during our math sessions. So instead I sit there acting like I know what I was doing. Luckily I had a close friend who helped me walk through the lesson so I barely passed. If we only had Brightstorm during my time I could be telling you a different story. Would you believe that math, history and other subjects can be taught in a creative and fun way? Plus you never have to feel like you are pressured unlike when you are in a classroom because the lessons are on videos so you can play it when you are ready while you sit at the convenience of your home or school. What I find really interesting is the professionalism of the content yet applying it to the real world. Some venues that you will see in the videos are in the sidewalk, by a construction building and other places just to make a point and emphasize a concept in the simplest way. It actually got me excited when I saw a few of the videos. To experience what I am talking about why don’t you sign up for a free brightstorm account and don’t forget to pass the link to those you know that is in high school or has a high school student. I am sure every high school student can use the help to pass the SAT.

Chicago Thanksgiving and Birthday

A little blurry but I love this picture. This is Nathaniel, Noelle's son teaching Frankie how to play the piano.

This year was a little different. Instead of the usual Portage, Indiana venue for Thanksgiving, we were invited to have it at Grandma Horner's nursing home. She rented a big hall and that was where we had our get together. It was quiet a long drive from our house to Chicago. Traffic was really bad. We left an hour and a half early but we still got there a little late. Everybody was already there waiting for us and it surely was nice to see everybody again. Besides seeing Grandma, Brian, Beth, Kevin, Noelle's kids, Dad and Noelle, I always look forward to seeing Ed and Pat. I don't know why. It seems like I feel so at home when I am around them. You see Pat and Ed were adopted by Noelle's brother and they were from Korea. They are both very nice. Ed is a lot outgoing while Pat is the quiet type. Ed was Frankie's playmate as you will see it in the pictures below. I also saw that cute headless birthday cake that Noelle and Dad prepared for me. Later you will also see how I used the question mark to make it as the turkey head. All in all it was so nice. Ryan and I were mostly thankful to whoever left that cart in the hall because that was where Frankie stayed most of the time. We didn't really chase after him until when we were getting ready to leave. We are also very proud of Frankie because he was so friendly and behaved the entire time. He actually made everybody laugh many times with his sillyness. It was also nice to hear compliments about him. It makes us think that we are doing a good job which I know we are. We have so much to learn but we are getting there. Here are some of the pictures.
