Appreciated At Work

The store that I am working for hasn't open yet. It's grand opening is on Wednesday, October 1. I am a little excited because it will be busy again. Although it doesn't bother me as much as before because I don't have to deal with the customers like I used to. Well today was supposed to be our employee appreciation day. The family of those that worked there are invited for lunch and to shop from 1-5 p.m. with an extra 15% discount on top of our employee discount which is 10% on hardlines and 15% for softlines. I wanted to go and also meet up with some of the day side but I was just too tired. We had a late night last night getting ready for everything. Ryan also worked overtime at FS so I decided to stay home. My supervisor called and asked me if I want to come in today making it my 5th in a row to work but I didn't get the call until Ryan got home from work. I must have been sleeping when he called and when I called him back he was already gone. I couldn't go anyway because nobody will watch Frankie and Sheila is also at work today. Thankfully we got the new store opening ad in the mail today and if we shop from Oct. 1 to 7, we are going to take another 30% off plus my discount. We really need to get new twin size beddings for Papa and Frankie. I checked yesterday and most of the displays are 30-50% off so I am sure we will be saving a lot. Yay!
